SLJ

Today I did another task and that task was to create an haiku summer poem. A haiku summer poem is when there are three lines and the first line has 5 syllables the middle line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables. Here is mine. I hope you like it.

  1. Kia ora Laylah, this is Elle again from the Summer Learning Journey.

Wow, you have been very busy on your blog lately and it is great to see all of your posts about the activities - ka pai!

I really like the summer haiku that you have written and the awesome drawing that you have created to go with it! I like how colourful it is, and that you’ve even drawn the ice-block that is mentioned in your poem! What is your favourite flavoured ice-block to eat at the beach? My favourites are lemonade and orange!

I especially like that you have included how a haiku is structured so that people can learn from your creation how to make their own. It is definitely a challenge to keep to the amount of syllables, but you have done a great job!

Well done and keep it up Laylah! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your Summer Learning Journey posts.

    Ngā mihi,
    Elle (SLJ)

  2. Hey Laylah,
Your poem looks really cool and I really like that you made the image by yourself not from some one else's site. Next time you could add in some more people into your beach scene. I hope you have a great day,
